I've only had this for a month or so but it has replaced my full size laptop for traveling. I've loaded the large software programs I need via an external CD/DVD drive and installed smaller files using USB flash drives. When I needed to buy a new camera I made a point of getting one that used SD memory cards so I can plug them directly into the Acer and avoid additional devices, although a USB adapter for different cards would work just as well.
The 8.9" screen is bright and large enough to see e-mails, pictures and mapping software easily and the keyboard, while smaller than I'm used to, works well enough for my medium-sized fingers.
The best thing is that I can put this in with my clothes luggage while driving or in a small carry-on when flying and hardly even notice it's there.
Carry a 6'-7' cord for hotels/motels that don't have Wi-Fi.
