This is a pretty good netbook. It took me about a hour to get used to the smaller keyboard but unlike many other netbooks out there virtually all the keys are in the same place and proportionally the same size as a full sized keyboard.
The trackpad is not perfect. The surface is a smooth piece of plastic that doesn't let your fingers easily glide over it making it difficult to make small movements of the cursor. The left and right click buttons are on the sides of the trackpad instead of underneath.
The 8.9" screen is more than adequate for browsing the web, checking e-mail, and instant messaging but too small for many other tasks. This is not something you would want to edit photos or video on. Working on large MS Excel spreadsheets can also be frustrating.
I'm pleased with the product but if I could go back I'd take another look at the Asus EeePC-1000H which my brother purchased. Larger screen and the keyboard feels full-sized. My only real gripe with it is they moved some keys around and the right shift key is very small.
------Mint Linux------
***ignore this if you aren't familiar with Linux***
I installed Mint Linux 6 (Ubuntu base) and almost everything worked out of the box.
The built in microphone takes a little bit of tweaking to get working properly.
The wireless card requires updated drivers. You can get open source ones from the Atheros website or you can use the Windows drivers with ndiswrapper. I personally found that the Windows drivers work better.
Compiz is enabled by default in Gnome and can greatly slow down the changing of windows making the computer feel sluggish. Disabling it made it much more responsive.
One thing to make a note of is that the SD card readers can not be used to boot off of. Acer's BIOS don't support it.Get more detail about Acer Aspire One AOA150-1126 8.9-Inch Netbook - White.
